Plain-language summary. This page describes how HomeHand works today. Final binding wording remains under counsel review.
Website inquiries
The contact form prepares an email draft on your device. It does not submit form details to a HomeHand server or save them in browser storage. Opening the draft passes it to your email app; you choose when to send it. Copying a draft puts its text on your clipboard. Initial inquiries should not contain access codes or sensitive household records.
Website technology
This website uses self-hosted fonts and does not include marketing cookies, advertising trackers, or analytics. Our hosting provider may process technical request information to serve and operate the website.
Your inventory is private
Your photos and the inventory built from them belong to you and are visible only to your account and the family members you explicitly invite to your household. We do not make your inventory public.
We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or inventory with advertisers or data brokers. This is a core promise of the product, not a setting you have to find and turn off.
How AI cataloging works
To name, describe, and value your items, your photos are processed by AI vision models through our cataloging engine. Images are sent for processing solely to build your inventory — never to train third-party advertising models. Location metadata is stripped from photos on upload. The specific AI providers are named under Sub-processors below.
Sub-processors we use
We rely on a small set of vetted service providers (“sub-processors”) to run HomeHand. They process your data only to provide the service to you, under their own security and privacy commitments:
- AI cataloging — Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google (Gemini). Your photos are sent to one or more of these AI vision providers to generate item names, descriptions, and values; they process images to return results to us and do not use your photos to train advertising models.
- Photo & file storage — Cloudflare R2.
- Hosting & database — Railway (application hosting and managed PostgreSQL).
- Payments — Stripe (card processing for paid plans; we never store your card number).
- Email — our transactional email provider, for sign-in links and account notices.
This list may change as the product evolves; the counsel-reviewed policy will keep it current.
Export and deletion
You can export everything you have catalogued at any time as a spreadsheet (CSV) or a photo-backed insurance report (PDF) — your data is never locked in. You can delete your account and all of its data yourself from Settings; deletion takes effect after a 30-day grace period, during which you can cancel and keep your account. We will never hold your data hostage to keep you subscribed.
Where we operate
